Our photo on the left shows the the building of the former Gran Hotel in Arrecife, taken in the early 90's when it was already abandoned, but even before it completely burned in 1993. The photo was then taken by Hartwig Paulsen Photo gallery.

On the right the restored and in 2004 newly opened Gran Hotel how you can see it today. As before, the "scyscraper" is a building with a signal effect, dominates the skyline of the city and is visible from far away...
